It’s spring down here which means it’s basically already summer. The weather is heating up which means not only the people starting to act a little hot and bothered… so are the animals!

I’d like to do my free public service announcement and remind y’all that alligators are courting. Mating season is upon us…
My neighborhood backs up to the most gator infested lake in the United States. Lake Jesup is home to over 13,000 alligators!

I have lived in Central Florida all my life. Alligators are one of those things that never get old to me. I know to respect and admire them from a distance. They still catch me off guard when I turn a corner and one is wading nearby in the water.
Last week after I took my son to school one morning, I grabbed a coffee at a new local shop and enjoyed it at one of the docks on the lake. I counted at least 10 gators. I caught great shots of these ones close up.

I did not have my dog with me. This is your reminder stay away— they can run and swim fast, especially when they are looking for love! 🩷
